About Monien Construction
A custom home builder and remodeler in Walworth County, Wisconsin, owned and run by Nick Monien since 2008.
A small company, by design
Monien Construction has built custom homes, estate additions, and luxury renovations across Walworth County since 2008. The work spans lakefront new construction, whole-home transformations, and the architectural carpentry that ties them together.
The person who quotes your project is the person who runs it. Nick Monien is on site, and the same standard carries from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.
In 2026, the Burlington lakehouse won the Lakeland Builders Association Quality and Design Award for Best Whole Home Renovation. In 2022, Monien Construction was voted Best in Walworth County in the New Home Builder category.
Away from the job site, the company shows up for its hometowns too. See Monien in the community.
Nick Monien
Owner and builder. Nick founded Monien Construction in 2008 and has led every project since, working directly with each client and on each job site. Clients describe the same thing in review after review: he treats every commission as if it were his only one.

How Nick works
Owner on site
The person who quotes the work runs the work. Decisions get made in the field, not in a queue.
Built to last
Materials and methods chosen for the next thirty years, not the lowest line item today.
Clear from day one
A real budget, a real schedule, and steady updates so you always know where the project stands.
Finished right
The final walkthrough is done with Nick, item by item, before the job is called finished.
Nick's attention to detail is exceptional and after the work he did inside our home, I had him build a shed for me, and after seeing his attention to detail continue on the second job, we hired him to build a cabin for us.
Spencer Walters
We were impressed with their quality of work, communication and professionalism. They offered suggestions and unique finishes that made the outside of our house stand out!
